What is The Writing Place?
The Writing Place is a free
tutoring service where undergraduate students can receive feedback on their writing,
work on getting ideas organized or perfecting their
grammar.
How can The Writing Place Help?
While The Writing Place
is not an editing service and does not "fix" papers by correcting grammatical
errors, tutors are ready to respond to writing questions
and act as guides through the writing process.
Students are encouraged to bring in papers, essays, projects, and any kind of writing assignment. Specific areas to be addressed include: creating a thesis, organization and development, sentence structure, and punctuation. After meeting with a tutor, he or she may suggest a second conference to work on the same piece, depending upon the degree of progress.
